Five years ago, GMC in Detroit presented the Granite concept. Then, GM announced that the car will not go into production, but now, the American company has registered the name “GMC Granite” at the US patent office.
Whether the Granite will finally pass in production, for the moment remains unclear, but in earlier statements, the vice president of global product development at GM, Mark Reuss, had said that GMC will produce an exclusive model. Reuss refused to get into details of what the model could be, but rumors say that it will be a small crossover, which will be based on the Granite Concept and it will be built on the platform of the Buick Encore.
