Fiat at Geneva Motor Show presented the Cross version of the Panda and the Freemont. Starting from the Panda Cross, the Italian brand ‘s designers placed at the front a new bumper that incorporates a large skid plate. The car features also new light fixtures,15 inch alloy wheels with All-Season tires and the brushed aluminum finish in specific points The changes in the external are completed with the new rear bumper and new rear lights.
The Panda Cross is equipped, with a special for this version,upholstery and dashboard, leather steering wheel and shifter. The standard equipment features automatic air conditioning, radio/MP3 with Blue & Me system with buttons on the steering wheel. Finally, the car will be available with two engines: the 1.3 liter MultiJet II turbodiesel which produces 80 hp and the 0.9 liter TwinAir Turbo with 90 hp. The latter combined with a special 6 speed gearbox with shorter first relationship.
The Freemont Cross on the other, is placed on the top of its range. It has a same look as the Panda Cross thanks to the new bumpers at the front and the back, the 19 inch Hyper Black alloy wheels and the side skirts in Platinum-Chrome color. The interior features leather seats and details in Liquid Graphite color. The car also features an 8.4 inch touch screen, a reversing camera, Alpine audio system and many other stuff which are included at the standard equipment.
The Freemont Cross will be sold with the known two-liter MultiJet II turbodiesel in two versions. The first version will produce 140 hp and it will be combined with a 6-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive, the second version will produce 170 hp. In the second “version ” the engine can be combined with front-wheel drive and manual transmission or four-wheel drive and a 6 speed automatic transmission.
Sales will begin in the autumn, with prices, as usual, to be announced close to their launch.
