Local Motors has chosen the design of their sports car. The design is of Greg Thompson, who called his proposal the SF-01 Street Fighter. The car uses a tubular frame that is visible on the doors, it has a long wheelbase, long hood and placement of the two-seat passenger compartment, as close to the rear axle as possible.
The car will come in two versions, one is a high-performance street-legal track car and the other a sport coupe, which will hit the market in less than two years. The two cars will be rear wheel drive pisokinita and they will produce at least 200 hp from a four-cylinder turbo engine, which is combined with a manual gearbox. Both the front and rear suspension will be independent, with one of the two cars to be modeled on the Ariel Atom and KTM X-Bow for use within the track.
