Influenced by the original Vespa which at the mid 1940’s gave rise to the evolution of the most famous scooter in the world, tailored to the design practices and technologies of the 21st century.

References in the distant past of the Vespa are clear. Although for the first time the Italian brand tries to combine the traditional metal frame with carved aluminum surfaces, achieving a reduction of the overall weight.

The circular projector remained in the traditional position the disk brakes are missing from the specifications of the 946 and the saddle seems to be floating.

The946 justifies its presence in the Vespa range having incorporated features that we would normally expect to encounter in larger displacement motorcycles.

One of these is the LED technology lights, the digital instrument panel, the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and the Traction Control (ASR), which is placed on a Vespa for the first time.

The 946 will feature a  one cylinder engine of 125 cc which will be Air-cooled,with electronic fuel injection and 3 valves.

Compared to the recent past, the engine of 125 cc has increased the maximum horsepower by 7.1% and the torque by 10.3%. In contrast, the reduction in fuel consumption reaches 30% and the interval between scheduled maintenance of the 125 cc engine is 10,000 kilometers.

The Vespa 946 reaches 11.4 hp and 10,7 Nm of torque, while having the opportunity to travel with just one liter of fuel and a speed of 50 km. / Hour a distance of 55 km!

The new proposal Vespa is expected to be available in 2013.
