MG presented in 1985,at the Frankfurt auto show, the EX-E Concept which was supposed to pass production in production.

The public’s reaction was overwhelming, as the car was quite attractive and unexpected by the company. Responsible for the design was Roy Axe, director of the Rover Section, with the car being based on the Metro 6R4.
To MG EX-E had an aluminum chassis, with its body parts being made of plastic. It was equipped with a 3-liter DOHC V6 24 valve engine that delivered 253 hp at 7,000 rpm, which enabled it to reach a top speed of 247 km/h.
The car never went into production, unfortunately, but many cars were influenced by its shape, like the Honda NSX of 1989.
