Toyota is recalling 340,000 Prius produced between August 2015 and October 2016 in the whole world, because of a problem on the hand brake. Of these, 92,000 cars have been sold in the US, 212,000 in Japan and the rest in Europe and other markets.

According to Toyota, there is a possibility that the hand brake will not work. If this happens, when the driver is out of the vehicle and the car will be in gear, it may cause it to roll and increase the risk of accidents. So far there is no official information if any incident has occurred due to this problem.

Corrections in affected cars will start from November. The car owners will have to bring their cars to the dealerships where the technicians will add a clip at the top of the parking brake cable.
