BMW is preparing to make changes that are needed in the design of the replacement of the 5-Series GT, that will obtain a prettier shape than the current generation. The front part of the car, will have a similar design to the new 5-Series that was just launched, while the rear will have a cleaner and smoother end, making it more elegant, than the current generation.

From a technical standpoint, the new 6-Series GT will be built on the CLAR platform, like the new 5 Series, which will allow it to be up to 100 kilos lighter than the current generation. The range of engines will be identical to that of the new 5-Series. Moreover, the new 6-Series GT will be offered with rear-wheel drive, while an all-wheel drive system will be offered as an extra. Finally, the new model is expected to be presented in mid-2017.
