The Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid managed to set a new record with a speed of 253.994 km/h at Bonneville Salt Flats. The car was modified by Hyundai to achieve this record.
More specifically the car has a nitro spray system, a new air intake and exhaust, a reprogrammed ECU and an upgraded gearbox, with its air conditioning system and other interior parts being removed, in order to save as much weight as possible.
