The Hongqi L5, is the response of modern Chinese automakers to the outlandish luxury cars bought by millions of Chinese people, including officials.

In this year’s Beijing autoshow, the production version of the Hongqi L5 and reportedly a Chinese businessman bought the first L5 that rolled of its wheels off the production line for “at least 5 million Yuan”.
The Hongqi L5 is about the same length as a Rolls-Royce Phantom and weighs over 3 tons. It is equipped with an aluminum V12 that produces 400 hp and 548 Nm of torque, equipped with hydropneumatic suspension and ” intelligent ” all-wheel drive. For the record , “Hongqi”, means “red flag” and the L5, is manufactured by the Chinese FAW Group.
