KIA announced that they are testing their wireless charging system in USA. Tests are divided into three stages. The first stage involves the development of a system that yields over 85%, which enables the transfer of more than 10kW to a vehicle for rapid charging. In the second stage the engineers of the company have created a small system specifically for the Soul EV and demonstrated a yield of 92%. In the third stage, 5 Soul EV will use this system to gather data.
In order to develop the wireless charging system, KIA worked with Mojo Mobility, a company that specializes in such systems. Unfortunately, the two companies have not announced when the system will be available to the public.
