BMW collaborated with Lamborghini to develop the framework of the M1, but also for its production. In 1977, they built the first prototypes of the M1, but the German company decided that the agreement with the Italian company had to be stopped because the quality of the prototype did not satisfy the people of BMW in Munich.

Before BMW’s collaboration with Lamborghini was interrupted, the Italian company had already built seven prototype M1 and the car for sale is the first of those prototypes, with a chassis number # 001. Currently the auction has reached $81,211 and it ends in 5 days.
