Rumors: BMW will replace the 6-Series with the 8-Series

According to rumors, BMW is developing a new model that will be the opponent of the Mercedes S-Class Coupe and Cabriolet. The car has already taken the internal codename G14/G15 and it will even replace the 6-Series in late 2019 and early 2020 that it will go into production.

The 8-Series is expected to combine luxury with a more sporty character that is found in traditional cars of the Bavarian brand. Thus, the BMW 8-Series will be provided with all the technological goodies and all the luxury found in the 7-Series in conjunction with a flexible sports chassis.

It will be equipped with a 4-liter twin turbo V8 engine which is expected to produce about 650 hp in its most powerful form while a smaller 3 liter six-cylinder engine that delivers about 450 hp, will also be available.

If all the rumors come true the, the 8-Series will be returning after twenty years!
