Land Rover officially presented the 2015 Discovery Sport. The car started life as a “Discovery Vision concept” and finally arrived to the production version. The design of the car has very prominent influences of the Range Rover Evoque. The grille of the Discovery Sport, seems to be divided horizontally into two pieces with the mask featuring beautiful lights and LED fog lights. Both in the front and in the rear bumpers, vents and protective covers for the underbody are incorporated.
The interior is simpler than the other models of Land Rover. Even so, it has steering wheel controls, black metal and decorative details. The dashboard in front of the driver is analogical while the console features an 8-inch touch screen that has a infotainment system. The second row of seats has a reclining ability and can move up to 16 cm, so that the maximum leg room for passengers in the rear seats, can go up to 102 centimeters! For those who wish to fit even more people in the Discovery Sport, in the list of optional equipment there is a third row of seats that folds to the floor but as the Land Rover says it is to be used “occasionally”.
Land Rover decided has given satisfactory off road capabilities to the car. The suspension has big trails, with the ground clearance being 212 mm. The model is of course equipped with the Terrain Response technology .
As for the engines that will be available on the 2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport, it will initially be available with a two liter, turbo petrol Si4 producing 240 hp and the 2.2 liter SD4 turbodiesel that produces 190 hp. In 2015 a more efficient eD4 turbodiesel engine with CO2 emissions of around 119 grams per kilometer will be added to the range. All engines can be combined either with six-speed manual transmission, or 9-speed automatic transmission.
The launch of the Land Rover Discovery Sport on the market, will be early next year with the price in U.S. Starting at $37.995 for the version with the two-liter petrol engine and in England from £32.395 for the base model with the SD4 engine.
