The car was 4.3 meters long and it was equipped with a 2.7-liter, twin-turbo, diesel engine, which yielded 230 hp with 500 Nm of torque. It could do the 0-100 km/h in 6 seconds, with its top speed limited to 250 km/h. The power was transferred to the rear axle via a 6-speed, manual gearbox.
This particular engine was later placed in the S-Type and it was developed between the companies of the Premier Automotive Group (PAG), that was the sub-group, which undertook the luxury companies of the Ford Group and the PSA Group.
The R-D6 used aluminum and composite materials for the bodywork and chassis, which resulted in a weight of 1,500 kilos. Despite its compact dimensions, it could carry four passengers comfortably and when the rear seats were not occupied, they could be dragged forward, in order to increase the luggage compartment.
The interior of the car had a leather upholstery, wood in Piano Black and a touch screen developed by Alpine Electronics.
