Porsche presented the new racing version of the 911, the 911 GT3 R. The body of the car is made of aluminum and CFRP (carbon-fibre composite material) with its windows to be made of polycarbonate.
The car is equipped with a 4 liter boxer engine, which features direct fuel injection and it produces 500 hp, which passes to the rear wheels through a 6-speed sequential gearbox.
The brakes of the car are six-piston aluminum calipers with 380 mm ventilated discs at the front wheels and four-piston calipers with 372 mm discs at the rear. The weight of the car is 1,220 kilos, with the first deliveries to be made by December of this year.
