ZF presented the Smart Urban Vehicle concept. A prototype vehicle that features many new technologies. First of all, the Smart Urban Vehicle concept has an “innovative” front axle that allows the front wheels to turn to angles of up to 75 degrees. The benefits of this function are much easier parking and significantly increased flexibility within the city.

The car also has the Smart Parking Assist, that features 12 ultrasonic sensors and two infrared sensors that can detect an available parking space and drive the car into it.
Finally, the Smart Urban Vehicle concept, has the PreVision Cloud Assist system. With this system, the path that the car drives, is uploaded on the “cloud” and if the driver follows the same route again, the system calculates the ideal speed for an upcoming turn based on empirical data. Then, the system cuts off speed before the turn so you do not need to brake the car, protecting the battery and the braking system.
ZF did not released detailed technical specifications for the Smart Urban Vehicle concept. They just announced that it is equipped with 2 electric motors, each producing 54 hp, a power that enables the car to have a top speed of 150 km/h.
