The car that you see in the cover photo, is a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing of 1957. After 17 years, it returned to Germany and spent 12 months in the garage of AMG. During these 12 months of 1974, this charming, classic car underwent some changes. First of all, the engine was replaced with a V8 4.5 liter that outputs 280 hp. The engineers wanted to fit a 6.3 liter engine but this was not possible. So they borrowed one from a 450 SE and improved until it reached 280 hp.
