Hyundai has upgraded the 2016 Sonata and in the South Korean market the car will now be available with seven engines, among which there is a plug-in hybrid set that combines a 2 liter gasoline engine producing 154 hp with 190 Nm of torque and an electric motor that gives the car an electric autonomy of 35 kilometers.
Two of the other engines are: a 1.6 liter turbo producing 180 hp with 264 Nm of torque and a new 1.7 liter diesel producing 141 hp with 340 Nm of torque. All engines can be combined with manual and automatic dual-clutch transmissions.
