Mercedes says that their future pickup will not be a macho style pickup like the Ram 3500, but something more elegant. The head of the project and former boss of AMG, Volker Mornhinweg, indicated that the car will be named GLT.
The car will be build on the new NP300 platform of Nissan that will also be used on the Navara, but it will be developed and designed by Daimler and manufactured by Nissan factories in Barcelona,Spain, Cordoba and Argentina, to be crew cab pickup.
The model will be sold in the markets of Europe, Latin America, South Africa and Australia and later it will come to the US.
