Mercedes-Benz through Dieter Zetsche said that they are not yet finished with the SUV category and they looking every possible niche to expand. It seems that one of these niches, are convertible SUVs. The vice president of sports cars and SUV’s of the brand, Wolf-Dieter Kurz said:
Never say never, we are looking at every possibility We will find the right market.
Referring to the prospect of launching a new convertible SUV. Kurz added that they will continue to analyze the market and that they will make a definite decision on whether to produce a convertible SUV in the near future.
