Mercedes is working to on the ELC, which will be a purely electric version of the GLC, it will have a different design, which puts emphasis on aerodynamics and it will be launched in 2018.
The model will be the competitor of other large electric SUVs like the Tesla Model X and the Audi Q6 e-tron. It will be equipped with two electric motors producing 536 hp in total, powered from a battery pack that will be located on the floor, while its autonomy will be close to 400 km. Its battery will even be able to be charged wirelessly through an inductive charger.
