Citroën released the first official photos of the DS Wild Rubis Concept that will be presented at the Shanghai autoshow. It is built on the platform of the DS5, it features a plug-in hybrid engine and has a length of 4.7 meters, width of 1.95 meters, height of 1.59 meters and a 2.9 meter wheelbase. It wears 21 inch rims and Citroen characterizes the design as “wild and rebellious”.
The production version will be placed opposite the Range Rover Evoque and it will go on sale in early 2014. It will initially be available in China and later will go on sale in Europe with an initial price close to 39,000 euros in France.
It will be available with all-wheel drive and in Europe there will be a hybrid version which will use the HDi 163 diesel engine and an electric motor of 34 kW (46 hp) making the crossover produce a total of 200 horsepower. Also a 1.6 liter THP 243 bhp engine will be available, which will be combined with a gearbox that sends power only to the front wheels.
