The head of Research and Development department of Mercedes-Benz, Thomas Weber speaking at Autonews confirmed that there will be a cabrio version of the new S-Class. Based on the S-Class Coupe and sales will begin in late 2015.
The car will be a four-seater, but it will have two doors. It features a soft fabric folding roof , with seats having the Airscarf system which carries warm air to the space round the neck of the passengers.
It will be equipped with the same engine as the S-Class Coupe and thus a V8 4,7-liter engine producing 455 hp and 700 Nm of torque. Later another engine will be added to the range and it will be a V8 twin-turbo 5,5-liter engine producing 585 hp and 900 Nm of torque.
