SSC North America announced that the Tuatara is very close to being passed in production, since the testing of the twin-turbo V8 engine have been completed. The engine has a capacity of 6.9 liters and produces 1,350 horsepower with 1.733 Nm of torque when it consumes 91 octane gasoline, and it can reach up to 1,700 horsepower using racing gasoline.
SSC says that the Tuatara will be a car it’s owner can use every day. The Tuatara already has 10 orders, and it costs close 1.3 million dollars. At the interior it has a digital dashboard which is using a Pico projector, similar technology to that of the Head-Up Display. The center console features a large screen and the start button of the engine. It will be constructed at the new factory of SSC in Washington.
