BMW presented the 2-Series Gran Tourer, the seven-seat version of the 2-Series Active Tourer, which will debut at the Geneva in three weeks from now. BMW characterizes the car as the first premium compact model of the world which has seven seats that can be folded, thus increasing the available luggage space,which reaches up to 1,905 liters.
Initially the car will be available with five engines. The 218i version will be equipped with a 1.5 liter TwinTurbo three-cylinder petrol engine producing 136 hp with 220 Nm of torque, with the 0-100 km/hour coming in 9.5 seconds, having a top speed of 205 km/h.
The 220i will be equipped with a 2.0 liter TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder engine producing 192 hp with 280 Nm of torque, with the 0-100 km/hour coming in 7.6 seconds, having a top speed of 223 km/h.
The 216d will be equipped with a 1.5 liter TwinTurbo three-cylinder diesel engine producing 116 hp with 270 Nm of torque, the 218d with a 2.0 liter TwinPower Turbo diesel engine producing 150 hp with 330 Nm of torque and the 220d xDrive will be equipped with a 2.0 liter TwinPower Turbo diesel performance engine producing 190 hp with 400 Nm of torque, combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission, with the 0-100 km/h coming in 7.6 seconds, having a top speed of 218 km/h.
