Mercedes-Benz announced the addition of four-wheel drive version for the Vito. The Vito 4 × 4 has an all-wheel drive system and the 4ETS Electronic Traction System, which brakes individually each wheels that is losing traction and directs the power to the wheels with the most grip. Mercedes says that the system completes this process in a few milliseconds and mimics the function of three locking differentials.
The Vito 4 × 4 will be equipped with a four-cylinder 2.15 liter 119 BlueTEC engine delivering 190 hp and 440 Nm torque, which will be combined with a 7-speed automatic transmission, having a top speed that reaches 199 km/h. Later, the Vito 114 CDI with 136 hp and Vito 116 CDI with 163 hp will be added to the range.
