BMW had announced two years ago that they will restore a 1957 507 Roadster, that once belonged to the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Elvis Presley. The restoration process of the car finished recently and the company will present it in some days at Pebble Beach in America.

The car was purchased by Presley in December of 1958 for $3,750, it was painted in white color, with the King at that time serving his military service in Munich, Germany. Elvis painted the car red and turned with it, in the US in 1960. Two years later, he sold it to a man named Tommy Charles, who worked in a dealership of Chrysler in New York. The car then went to Alabama, where it wore a V8 engine, a Borg-Warner gearbox and the rear axle of a GM’s model.

After these changes, the car was involved in dragster races, and in 1968, it changed hands once again, with Jack Castor, an engineer from California becoming its third owner. Castor wanted to bring it back to its original state, but because of the costs, he did not manage to, closing the car in a warehouse.

However, after many years the German company took it and restored it to its original state, greatly increasing its value. This 507 Roadster is one of the only 256 that left the factory.
