BMW in the early 1970s built the Turbo Concept that surprised the audience due to its futuristic design and gull-wing doors. The mid engine concept car wore the turbo engine from the 2002 Turbo, that produced 280 hp and enabled it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds, with its top speed reaching 250 km/h.
