BMW is continuing its cooperation with Formula E and they presented the X5 xDrive40e rescue vehicle for the 2015/2016 season. The car is the third model of BMW for Formula E, after the medical i3 and the i8 pace car.

The car is equipped with a 2 liter turbo TwinPower Turbo engine that delivers 245 hp with 350 Nm of torque, combined with an electric motor that produces 113 hp with 250 Nm of torque. The combined system power reaches 313 hp with 450 Nm of torque, which pass on the road via an eight-speed automatic transmission and the xDrive all-wheel drive system.
