In the middle of the ’90s, Koenig-Specials offered a tuning package, which was called KS8 and featured a particularly aggressive body kit for the BMW 850CSi. The kit consisted of a front bumper, wider fenders and a big spoiler.
The package also included an upgraded intake system, a supercharger, an ECU reprogramming, a larger intercooler, a new exhaust, new shock absorbers and springs. All these modifications made the simple 850i, deliver 450 hp, while the 850CSi produced 510 hp, an increase of 150 and 130 hp respectively.
The extra horsepower enabled the car to have a top speed of 322 km/hour, while there was an option of putting a more sporty rear axle, which improved acceleration, but limited the top speed to 282 km/h.
It is not known how many packages were made, but the Sultan of Brunei has a black Koenig KS8 in his impressive collection.
