When Porsche decided to use the 924 at Le Mans, they realized that the car had to be homologated to meet the regulations of Group 4, thus they started producing the 924 Carrera GT which is based on the 924 Turbo.
The car was equipped with a 2 liter, turbocharged engine, producing 210 hp in the GT version and 245 hp in the GTS version.
Many parts in 924 Carrera GT originated from the 911, but not the body kit that gave the model the characteristic look, assisted by the lowered suspension.
