Elemental unveiled today the RP-1, the two-seater, road-legal track-car that will present at Goodwood.

The RP-1 is equipped with a 2 liter Ecoboost engine of Ford, yielding about 280 hp, combined with a Hewland automatic sequential gearbox with paddles on the steering wheel. The RP-1 will be available also with a 1 liter EcoBoost, and with a 999 cc engine from a Honda Fireblade.

The horsepower is considered adequate given that the company declares that the weight does not exceed 450 kilos, which is achieved through the use of carbon and aluminum, in various places, such as the floor, the front suspension, the dashboard etc.

The suspension consists of double wishbones fitted with Eibach springs and bottles of Nitron. The breaks are four-piston calipers of Caparo, with dimensions 280 mm. while the car has 17 inch alloys and 235/45 tires.

Elemental says that the RP-1, produces 200 kilos of downforce at 160 km/h. Sales will begin next summer, but the price is still unknown.
