Silverstone Auctions is going to sell the first Rolls-Royce Corniche that rolled its  wheels of the production line of the British brand. It is the fifth generation Corniche and it is the only modern Rolls developed under the ownership of Volkswagen, before the company was sold to BMW. Also, it is the last model that was built at the factory in Crewe, before it turned into a Bentley factory.

This particular car has traveled just 24,926 miles ( more than 40,000 km ) and the last service was held in May 2013. Of course it is in excellent condition with a full service history. Under the huge hood lies a 6.75 liter turbo V8 engine delivering 325 hp and 738 Nm of torque that allows the over 3 tonnes car, to move decently. The 100km/h from a standstill comes in about 8 seconds and the top speed is limited to 215 km/h. The interior is lined with Connolly natural leather of the highest quality, plenty of wood and chrome. The equipment includes dual-zone automatic air conditioning, 6 way CD changer and automatic adjustable suspension and lights.

Although when it was new, the basic version costed 213,443 pounds, the first of the 374 Corniches built, is expected to sell for 105,000 pounds.
