Ford announced that they are recalling 591,177 cars worldwide. The recall affects 518.313 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ produced from 2013 to 2015 and the Edge of 2015. Of these, 487,301 are in the US and 31,012 in Canada. The problem lies mainly in areas with cold climate conditions, with the screws that secure the power steering, corroding and breaking.
The recall also affects 50.157 Focus, Edge, Escape and Transit Connect produced in 2014 and Fiesta produces in 2014 and 2015. The problem in these models lies in the problem of fuel pumps of Bosch. The problem at the pumps is located in the nickel plating, which can detach and cause a fuel leak. Ford will place the affected cars, with new fuel pumps.
The recall finally affects 22.616 Lincoln MKZ, that have problems in the parking lights and 91 F-150 of 2015 in which the heat shield at the bottom of the car, may not be installed properly, or may not be installed at all.
