Smart presented the new ForTwo Cabrio, that is based on the coupe version of the new ForTwo. The design of the car is not particularly differentiated, except of course of the fabric roof, that opens in just 12 seconds and it is available in three colors (black, blue denim and red).
At first, the model will be offered with two different three-cylinder engines, producing 71 hp and 91 Nm of torque or 90 hp and 135 Nm of torque, available with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The Smart has not made known yet, the performance of the models. However, they state that the torsional rigidity of the new ForTwo Cabrio has increased by 15% with the addition of supports on its chassis. The orders of the new model will begin this November in Germany with the first deliveries of teh car being scheduled for February 2016.
