The 8th generation Volkswagen Golf will be presented in 2017, while the GTI version will be presented in 2019 and according to rumors it will be build on the MQB Evo platform, it will have a wider wheelbase, active shock absorbers, big brakes and an electronic limited slip differential.

It will be equipped with a four-cylinder 2 liter turbo gasoline engine, that will produce over 300 hp, combined with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or an automatic DSG.
The car will weigh less than the Golf GTI and it will have thin LED headlights and an aerodynamic body kit, while its interior will borrow elements from the Golf R Touch concept. Among these will be the digital dashboard, a heads-up display and a new infotainment system with voice commands that recognize gestures and it is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
