Jeremy Clarkson, as you may remember in the Top Gear Patagonia Special, filmed in Argentina, drove a Porsche 928, that was having a license plate writing “H982 FKL”, which was interpreted as “1982 Falklands”. The team of Top Gear was forced to leave Argentina, since the locals were angry with the plate and were threatening them.

Last week a judge in Argentina, called Maria Cristina Barrionuevo, said that Clarkson and the producers of the show are guilty of “arrogant and disrespectful” behavior aimed to “provoke the public”, even if the BBC claimed that the plate H982 FKL was an “unfortunate coincidence”.
Mrs. Barrionuevo is preparing an appeal, because the license plate of the car was changed during filming, which is an offense that can result in a conviction for falsifying evidence and it is punishable by imprisonment of up to three years.
