Kia presented the hybrid version of the new Optima. This presentation was made in South Korea, where the model is sold under the name K5. The Optima Hybrid stands out from the simple Optima, with its new bumpers, its new wheels and also from the active grille that closes automatically when driving at higher speeds to reduce wind resistance and also consumption.
It is equipped with a 2 liter GDI four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine producing 156 hp with 189 Nm of torque that is combined with an electric motor of 52 hp with 205 Nm of torque. Both engines are connected to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Kia will start sales of the Optima Hybrid in Europe, from 2016.
