The British company managed and reduced the weight of the Exige Sport 380 by 25 kilos, compared to the Exige Sport 350. This was achieved thanks to the use of many carbon parts, such as its front spoiler, its diffuser and its inlets.
Its rear windows are made from polycarbonate, it has carbon seats, a lithium ion battery, while the wheels are forged and fabricated from lightweight metals. In addition, Lotus, has placed at the rear, only two lights, instead of four, in order to save an extra 300 grams of weight.
The car has an upgraded fuel pump, a reprogrammed ECU and a new exhaust. Its ;fuel tank has a capacity of 48 liters, with its six-speed manual gearbox to offer faster changes. From spring of 2017 the car will also be offered with a six-speed automatic transmission.
The car’s aerodynamics package produces 60% more downforce, in comparison to the Exige Sport 350. The Exige Sport 380 is offered in 10 exterior colors, but also with the “Track Pack” package that adds an adjustable Nitron suspension. In England the Lotus Exige Sport 380 has a starting price of £67,900 and in Germany its price starts from €89,900.
