With the all-new Mazda MX-5 having been presented for some time, Mazda Australia considered a good idea to put the car against the first generation MX-5 on the track.
Naturally, the MX-5 NA started four seconds earlier than the MX-5 ND, for the race to be fair. The NA is equipped with a 1.6 liter engine producing 116 hp and the ND is equipped with a 2 liter producing 155 hp.
