Mercedes-AMG back in 2012, had presented at the Paris auto show, the SLS AMG Electric Drive and now, Tobias Moers, the boss of the company in a recent interview confirmed that they are planning to release a purely electric supercar.

For now there is no schedule for when this model will go into production, with Moers saying that it will happen “sooner or later”. The Mercedes SLS AMG Electric Drive (pictured above) holds the record for the fastest electric car around the Nurburgring since it has managed to record a time of 7:46.234.
The Mercedes SLS AMG Electric Drive is equipped with four synchronous electric motors, one at each wheel, producing 750 hp with 1,000 Nm of torque, that enable the car to do the 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, with its top speed limited to 250 km/h and its autonomy reaching 250 km. Each of the electric motor weighs 45 kilos and revs at 13,000 rpm while the batteries of 60 kWh weigh 548 kilos.
