The new Audi A1 will be released in 2018

Audi is preparing the second generation of the A1, which will be presented in 2018. The German company wants to offer a new model, with even more features and further improve the technology and premium feel of the car.

The design will not have significant changes and it will be a development of the existing design of the model. The car will feature a larger grille and sharper LED lights. The interior of the A1 is characterized by many as the best and most exclusive in its category and it is expected to improve even more.

Its length will be increased by 90 mm to improve space in the cabin, while the trunk is expected to reach 300 liters of capacity. Due to the new platform, the production of the car will take place at Seat’s factory in Martorell, Spain next to the new Ibiza.

The new A1 will be available with a 1-liter engine producing 100 hp and a new 1.5-liter gasoline engine, which will also be available as a diesel and will produce from 90 to 160 hp. Surely there will be a stronger S1, but is very likely that Audi will also release the long-awaited RS1. Finally, Audi may release plug-in hybrid and e-tron versions of the car.
