Toyota presented in 2011 the GRMN Sports Hybrid Concept II, a hybrid prototype, that was developed in collaboration, with Toyota’s aftermarket group, Gazoo Racing. The car was based on the MR2 Sport Hybrid concept that was presented in 2010 in Tokyo.

It was equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 engine, producing 248 hp, with the power transferred to the rear axle. The engine was combined with an electric motor which powered the front wheels, making the car all-wheel drive. Its weight was around 1,500 kg and its total horsepower reached 295 hp.
