Rumors: Opel is preparing the new Astra OPC

Opel has presented already the seventh generation of the Astra, but until now we have not seen the OPC version of the car. According to rumors, though, the company is working on the new Astra OPC, which will be equipped with a new 1.6-liter engine, with direct injection, that will produce close to 300 hp.

It will be combined with 6-speed manual transmission with the power being sent to the front wheels via a controlled differential lock. It will have an upgraded suspension and its weight will be reduced. The new Opel Astra OPC will be presented probably at fall at the Frankfurt auto show.
