The SCG 003 is manufactured to meet the regulations of the GT class, but its design draws influences from the LMP1 and LMP2 prototypes. The design is of the car is not objectively beautiful, but it has good aerodynamic.

The car uses an advanced, modular architecture based on a brand new carbon fiber chassis with the rear panel, to be the suspension mounting point, so that the engine change can be be easy. The suspension, by the way, is push-rod type on the front and rear, while the electronics of the car, come from Bosch Motorsport.

The SCG 003 is equipped with a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that is based on a unit of Honda Performance Development, but has further evolved from Autotecnica Motori. It is combined with a Hewland gearbox, that directs the power to the rear wheels. Finally, the engine of the street version (003 Stradale), is another 3.5 liter twin-turbo V6 that is still being evolved.
