BMW is preparing for the presentation of the new generation of the 5 Series in January, but in the meanwhile they are continuing the intensive testing of the new M5, which will be presented in 2018.

The competition in the category of luxury and sporty sedans has increased with the new Mercedes E63 AMG, the new Porsche Panamera and the Audi RS6. For this reason the new M5 F90 will be wearing a 4.4-liter V8 engine, of the current generation, but with increased horsepower, that is expected to reach 600-620 hp.
In the video you can hear that the engine sounds much better than before. The car will be based on the new CLAR platform and it is expected to lose 150 kilos. It will use a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive, while the four-wheel drive will be offered as optional.
