Volkswagen presented the Budd-e concept at CES, an electric Microbus that has LED headlights, solar panels on its roof, digital mirrors, a storage drawer in the rear bumper and 21 inch alloy wheels.

Its interior features a large curved screen consisting of three separate adjustable displays. The steering wheel is multifunctional without having buttons, as it responds to commands, depending on the pressure exerted by the driver’s hands.
Almost everything in it is controlled by touch, including the doors, while it is also equipped with an advanced voice recognition system and it is activated when the driver say “Hello Budd-e”.
The Volkswagen Budd-e concept is driven by two electric motors, each one mounted on the front and rear axle, powered by a battery of 101 kW. The Budd-e concept is able to reach a top speed of 150 km/h and it has an autonomy of 600 kilometers per charge.
It is based on new MEB (Modular Electric Platform) platform designed specifically for electric and plug-in hybrid models. According to VW, the platform has been created to accommodate large battery packs and electric motors, while maintaining large available interior space.
