The production version of the Volkswagen NMC, was named Lamando and was presented at Chengdu in China. It is constructed on the MQB platform and it is essentially a Jetta CC exclusively for the Chinese market.
The model will be sold in the Chinese market in the first half of 2015, it will be manufactured by the Shanghai-Volkswagen joint venture, with design having lost all those futuristic elements of the protoype.
It will be offered with a 1.4 TSI engine and 2.0 liter which will be combined with a seven-speed automatic dual clutch transmission (DSG). The sales of the model will start in early 2015 in China, while at the rest of the world where the car will be launched as Jetta CC, sales will begin in 2016. The version that will be equipped with the 1.4 TSI and 2.0 TSI will cost from 180.000 yuan.
