A 1989 Peugeot 205 GTI was sold at a record price

The Peugeot 205 GTI is undoubtedly one of the most beloved small hot hatches of the 90s, but finding one in a good condition is very rare. This 1989 Peugeot 205 GTI that you see on the picture was recently auctioned at Classic Sale 2016, by Silverstone Auctions and it sold for £30,938, making it the most expensive, worldwide.

It is completely intact and authentic and it is in excellent condition, having traveled only 12,852 km and having had only one owner. It is painted in a rare metallic silver color, called “Silver Metallic” and its interior features leather sport seats, air condition, electric windows and central locking. From June 2004 until February 2012 it was stored in a garage.

Mechanically, it is equipped with a 1.905 ml four-cylinder engine that delivers 122 hp, allowing it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 8.5 seconds, with its top speed reaching 202 km/h.
