This is the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V, the luxury powerful American sedan that will be the “opponent” of the BMW M5 and the Mercedes E63 AMG.

It is equipped with a supercharged 6.2 liter V8 yielding 640 hp and 855 Nm of torque. The same engine equipped on the Chevrolet Corvette Z06. The power is passed to the rear wheels through an automatic eight relation gearbox. The Cadillac CTS-V does the 96 km/h from standstill in just 3.7 seconds and continues up to 321 km/h (200 miles per hour).

Of course, to enable the driver to handle all this power, Cadillac’s engineers worked enough on the car. The torsional stiffness is improved by 25% while the CTS-V features as standard an upgraded version of the Magnetic Ride Control active suspension that offers 40% faster response. Furthermore, the strongest Cadillac in history, comes with 19 inch alloy wheels, Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires and Brembo brakes consisting of 390 mm discs with six-piston calipers on the front axle. The 2016 Cadillac CTS-V weighs 1,880 kilos.

The car features a large air duct on the hood, a front splitter, a rear spoiler and a diffuser. The aerodynamic package is available unpainted for those who prefer the look of carbon. The interior comes equipped with plenty of decorative carbon fiber, microfiber suede upholstery and Recaro seats. In terms of equipment, the car will be offered with the GM Performance Data Recorder as well as known technological goodies like Siri Eyes Free, the OnStar with 4G-LTE, the CUE infotainment and a Bose audio system.

The 2016 CTS-V will be officially presented in the Detroit auto show in early 2015 with the launch of the car on the market to be made in late summer of 2015.
